Fez
Colorful tiles define Morocco’s medieval capital Fez, the business of street markets, and outside cafes. Tall Arab-style arches lead into the medina, or walled in city, where motorized vehicles are forbidden and instead donkeys and handcarts carry goods. It is filled with small neighborhoods, mosques, markets and sidewalk restaurants. Terraced above the medina lies small villages with ceramicists making beautiful and delicate tiles and pottery.
